The Four Radiant Abodes is a call to action for us as human beings. In the Buddhist tradition,
The Buddha outlines four mental qualities that are considered to be the most noble of qualities--loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. Jack Kornfield, a prominent Buddhist teacher states that The Four Radiant Abodes are a ‘Universal description of an open heart. When we meet another who is filled with these qualities, our hearts light up. When we touch peace, love, joy, and compassion, in ourselves, we are transformed.’
In this 4-part series, we will explore cultivating each of these abodes. Classes will be 90-minutes and will include a discussion of the philosophy around each abode, guided meditation, journaling, and reflection.
